    Blood

I've decided I'll call this poem "Blood" until i think of something better.

There are times when sorrow cannot be put into words.
There are times when I'd rather my distress be unheard.
Bad habits return in times of chaos.
I bite my lip, anticipating the loss.

The blood that flows freely from my punctured lip
Is not fierce enough and will not form a drip
But what happens to life blood trapped inside
When a vein of the mind overflows like the tide?

Across the sea someone lies in a strange bed
With danger held close within his head.
What news I've overheard these past weeks
And I strain to make out the voices which speak.

Somethings are too hard to share with others.
The complexity prevents all from being uncovered.
Sometimes you know when things should be hidden
The phone rings and I'm by the door to silently listen.

    UFO scare...

Ok, so I know you're all gonna laugh but at the time i was really scared >_<

So last night I was lying in bed reading my book (the Subtle Knife) and at about 1:45am I decided I should go to sleep so I put my book away.  I looked out the window and then blinked and there was this flashing light in the sky.  At first I thought it was a helicopter or an airplane but it wasn't moving >_< so I stared at it for at least 20 minutes and it was still there....I was trying to think what other thing could be flashing so much...it was like blue, green, yellow, white, orange....I thought it could be a star but I haven't seen a stare flashing that intensely before, (and I have seen flashing stars before but they were twinkling...not flashing).

How scared would you be when you actually do see a ufo?  My heart was pounding so fast and I clasped my hands as if I was praying. No joke. I even thought of waking up my parents or my brother and pointing at the light just to make sure I'm not going crazy but it wasn't necessary.  You can't hallucinate a strong flashing light.

Then I also thought...what if it's a meteor or something and it's heading towards earth (hence the position of the light didn't move from left to right) but then after awhile I realized the light wasn't getting any bigger so I was wondering how far away it was....

After the shock and fear came the period of denial and rationalization.  20 minutes after I had been staring at the light, barely blinking my eyes, my window got lighter like it was fogging up which made it harder for me to see the light but it was still there.  I tried to remember the position of the big tree infront of one of my neighbours' house....the reason for the sudden appearance of the star could've been that it was hidden behind one of the bare branches of the big tree. Perhaps the back and forth blinking of the light was because a thin branch was dividing the light into two from my point of view.  I noted that the position of the light had finally moved to the right a little.

In the end I pulled my blanket over my face and after several moments of rationalization decided I'll just pretend it is a star even if it wasn't...and fell asleep.

I guess it wasn't the first time I've seen weird lights in the sky but this was the weirdest.  The first time the light stayed a really brief time before it whooshed upward and out of the frame of my window.  That time it was a green and/or yellow light.  I blinked and it was there. Then I blinked and it was almost gone (upward).

Anyway....laugh all you want but I was really scared >_< I'm just glad I don't watch a lot of scary alien invasion movies or else my imagination would've taken over.....
